SHENJI Birmans is registered with the GCCF (Vic & Aust), and is situated on a two-acre
property 50 km from Melbourne in Australia.
Breeding cats are not confined in small cages, but have outdoor runs, climbing frames,
shadecloth, choice of beds, and a natural environment from which they can enjoy the sunshine
and view. Kittens are mainly raised indoors in my home for safety and 'socialising'.
Breeding cats are from show-winning backgrounds and are mainly sealpoints or bluepoints.
I sell breeding stock to officially registered
cat-breeders with approved catteries, and an active showing career is preferred. However, pets or show neuters are available most of the year to suitable, loving homes.
BACKGROUND:
My name is Loraine Smith and I have been a cat-lover my whole life, always having had
at least two cats in my household. I fell in love with a friend's Birman in 1985, and
one of her kittens, Chereby Benjamin Luke ("Benji") became my beloved pet for 16 years. When I migrated to Australia from the UK in 1988, Benji and his
moggy friend, Sherry, came with me. When Sherry passed on at 17 years old, I decided to
fulfil my ambitions to breed the ultimate pedigree cat, the lovely Birman.
Choosing 'Shenji' - a combination of Sherry and Benji - as my prefix, I purchased a bluepoint female, Eldorato Jessamine Leia ("Jessie"). Her first litter produced Gold Champion of Champions Shenji Callista Sarah, pictured at the top of this website.
My second litter, to Gd Ch Badarene Golden Bolle, produced 6 babies, from which I kept
a male, now my bluepoint stud, Silver Champion Shenji Jacen Luke. Then, using a sealpoint stud with USA lines, Dbl Gd Ch Eldorato Anakin Solo, Jessie produced my seal stud, Dbl Gd Ch Shenji Anakin. From one of Anakin's litters, I kept a lovely
sealpoint boy as my pet and show neuter, CCCA Ch and Gold PN Shenji Aslan d'Or, GCCF(Vic)'s Best Longhair Neuter of 1999 and 2000.
CCCA CH & GOLD PN SHENJI ASLAN D'OR (HONS), or "Lando"
I have recently purchased Gold Champion of Champions Eldorato Zabeal (Hons) from one of the best catteries in Victoria, and he is producing beautiful kittens as breeders, pets or show neuters both in Australia and overseas.
All Shenji kittens are raised in my home and are fully 'socialised' and well
accustomed to being picked up and cuddled. They are vaccinated against flu and
enteritis and vet-checked prior to sale, and breeding queens and studs are
tested FIV/FeLV-negative.
NORWEGIAN FOREST CATS
A special addition to my cattery are my Norwegian Forest Cats (NFCs). My first stud was Gold Champion of Champions Firecrystal Prins Ymir, the first
registered Norwegian Forest Cat in Victoria and one of the first in Australia.
Ymir is a Blue Silver Tabby with white and has an alert and affectionate personality. I have also imported a pure white Norwegian Forest Cat from traditional Scandinavian lines. Double Grand Champion Abbatini av Operahuset and his 'harem' of females from various top European lines are producing lovely kittens, available for sale as pets, show neuters and breeding stock.
